Joel McHale -- I Never TRASHED 'Community'

"Community" star Joel McHale says he's being unfairly portrayed as a Season 4 HATER (even though everyone knows it sucked) ... telling TMZ he NEVER ripped the show in public.

McHale was on his way to shop for fancy kitchen supplies in L.A. Wednesday when we asked about a recent article that implied Joel thought the show was a disaster during the one season creator Dan Harmon wasn't at the helm.

(In fairness to the article, Season 4 WAS a disaster ... and everyone knows it).

But Joel says the story just ain't true ... and the quotes that painted Joel as a smack-talker were "taken out of context."

There is one positive ... Joel says he's pumped for the show to return in 2014 ... and insists it'll be more popular than the critically-panned-yet-strongly-rated "Sound of Music Live" spectacle.

Is that a good thing?

'American Gladiators' Star Nitro -- Hospitalized for Heart Attack ... Blames Steroid Abuse

EXCLUSIVE

Ex-"American Gladiators" star Nitro was hospitalized for a HEART ATTACK on Wednesday, TMZ has learned ... and Nitro tells us he thinks STEROIDS played a factor.

Dan Clark says he experienced intense chest pains while working out at an L.A. gym that night ... and then his left arm went numb.

Nitro asked a buddy to drive him to a nearby urgent care center ... where they quickly realized he was having a heart attack and put him in an ambulance for a nearby hospital.

Once Nitro arrived to the hospital, he was rushed into emergency surgery to remove a blood clot in one of his arteries. During the procedure, doctors fitted Nitro with a brand new stent.

Nitro says the whole thing was a shock 'cause he's in peak physical condition ... and believes the heart attack must have been a result of the YEARS of steroid abuse from his days as a Gladiator.

According to Nitro, 'roids weren't viewed as taboo back in the AG heyday ... it was just part of the culture.

Clark says he's confident he'll make a full recovery and says the worst part about the whole ordeal ... he can't workout for a month.

Ex-Danity Kane Singer -- I Got Screwed Out Of The Reunion

EXCLUSIVE

Original Danity Kane singer D. Woods would have LOVED to perform with the group during their reunion concert in L.A. this week ... only problem, she says they didn't invite her.

Woods tells us she first heard about the groups reunion plans back in May -- but not through the girls -- instead she learned via TMZ ... when we shot the girls meeting up with a new manager.

The 29-year old singer says none of the girls ever expressed any interest in a reunion after breaking up 5 years ago ... and Woods was met with resistance every time she tried.

Woods isn't quite sure why the girls want nothing to do with her ... but says she's happy they're still having success with "the sound that I helped them create."

Sure sounds like it.
