Citizens of Toronto, fear not ... even though your sometimes crack-smoking mayor just touched down in Hollywood to apparently hit up the Oscars -- and after his recent trip to Mardi Gras -- he claims the city is still in good hands.

Rob Ford made his way through a media storm of cameras Saturday night at LAX (video to follow) ... telling our photog he's running political biz from the road -- and even plans to run for office again later this year.

"Crack Mayor" told the Toronto Sun early Saturday morning he was flying to L.A. to attend the Academy Awards ... but when he got to baggage claim Jimmy Kimmel was waiting as his driver ... so this was clearly all for his late night show.

We also asked if he'd be down to move here if the United States made a deal to trade him with Canada for Justin Bieber ... but you'll have to wait for the video for his response.

Bunny Ranch Owner -- My Hookers Were Invited Guests At Clinton Charity Event

Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof says the two hookers who snapped a pic with Bill Clinton at a charity event last week were invited guests of his ... and nobody kicked them out of the party.

Hof tells TMZ ... he was approved by the charity to bring two dates to the Unite 4 Humanity event -- Barbie Girl and Ava Adora -- and even promoted the charity's party to his supporters via newsletter.

The HBO star says his entire group went through security and were given wristbands because they were all on the list ... and not one of them was kicked out of the party -- despite sources close to the event claiming otherwise .

Dennis adds, "how the f*** did we get there if we weren't invited?!"

Academy Award Nominee -- Oscars are Run By Old 'White Men' Who Take Bribes

Oscar nominee Julie Delpy has some pretty HUGE BALLS for a chick ... because the screenwriter just spanked the Academy hard -- saying it's just a bunch of crusty white dudes who take BRIBES for votes.

Delpy -- who's nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for "Before Midnight" with Ethan Hawke -- told the Independent the awards are meaningless because voters are, "90% white men over 70 who need money."

"They haven't done anything in a long time," Delpy continued ... "You just need to give them two or three presents and they're in your pocket. It doesn't mean anything to me."

The actress also roasted the Weinstein brothers claiming they killed the independent movie scene ... and then dissed her own flicks, saying, "Every time I've become a part of the Hollywood mainstream, it's been crap! Let's be honest: 90% of movies made in Hollywood are crap."

Guess no one ever told her not to bite the hand that feeds you ... even if it's old, white and (allegedly) corrupt.

Sydney Moss WENT OFF for Thomas More College in a 106-88 victory over Waynesburg in a DIII tournament in Kentucky on Friday night ... setting the DIII single-game scoring record.

Moss -- a 5'11" sophomore -- is sorta following her dad's college career path. She started at the University of Florida and then transferred to the smaller school.

Of course, Randy started at Florida State before transferring to Marshall ... where he emerged as one of the best wide receivers in the country.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Cause of Death -- Massive Drug OD ... Heroin, Coke, Rx Meds

Philip Seymour Hoffman was killed earlier this month by a deadly mixture of heroin, cocaine, and several other drugs -- this according to the NYC medical examiner.

The medical examiner just released the official cause of death -- listing "acute mixed drug intoxication" as the reason PSH passed away suddenly on February 2nd.

According to the medical examiner, the drugs in the actor's system at the time of his death were heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety) and amphetamines (uppers like Adderall).

Mixing heroin and cocaine is often termed "speedballing." It's the same mixture that killed Chris Farley, River Phoenix, and John Belushi.

The 'Little Couple' -- MLB Should Hire More LITTLE PEOPLE!

"He was retained because of his small strike zone," Bill said.

It's true ... Eddie only played one game -- and WALKED -- making his career on-base percentage a solid 1.000.

Bill and Jen say the "short" formula could be a recipe for success in the future -- "It's forward thinking. Hopefully there are more managers that think that way!"

Jamie Lee Curtis Frantically Calls 911 -- Backseat OD on Pills and Booze

Jamie Lee Curtis frantically called 911 Tuesday night -- after her friend suffered what appeared to be some kind of overdose in the backseat of the actress' car ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... paramedics responded at around 9pm in Venice, CA after receiving Curtis' phone call ... and found her friend passed out in the backseat.

According to sources, Curtis' friend had suffered a violent reaction after mixing alcohol with some kind of prescription Rx.

We're told Curtis initially tried to drive her friend to the hospital -- hence why the friend was in the backseat -- but she decided to call 911 instead when the situation took a turn for the worse.

Paramedics took the woman to a nearby hospital. She was treated and released hours later.
