But Yankee was shot in the hip during the peak of his baseball career -- and had to abandon his MLB dreams. Fortunately, things worked out and he became a megastar.
Yankee's not bitter about it -- even though the bullet is still lodged in his hip ... which can be a pain in the ass in airports.

We broke the story ... Twist, and 4 other guys, allegedly busted into Kyle's apartment and pummeled Chris with brass knuckles last Friday and stole his wallet and cell phone.
The Massey brothers' attorney says a judge issued the arrest warrant and claims Twist has been charged with felony home invasion and robbery, but the D.A. says no charges have been filed ... yet.
LAPD is still trying to identify the 4 other men who were with Twist.

Diem -- who found out she had ovarian cancer 3 weeks before her first appearance on MTV in 2006 -- was reportedly surrounded by family this week in a New York hospital as her condition worsened.
Back in August, the reality star collapsed on set while filming "The Challenge" ... then announced she had been diagnosed with stomach and colon cancer. It eventually spread to her liver and lymph nodes as well.

The judge wants Bieber to answer questions about a scuffle between his bodyguards and a photog outside a Buenos Aires nightclub in November 2013. The photog is accusing Bieber of siccing his goons on him.

TMZ broke the story ... Buddy was arrested at 1 AM in NYC after cops say they saw him swerving in his 2014 YELLOW CORVETTE. Law enforcement sources tell us he was way over the legal limit and arrested for DWI.
Buddy was in court this morning as the complaint was read out loud, and it's entertaining. It says Buddy told cops he was a good guy and they should just put him in a cab ... not arrest him.
He pled not guilty to DUI and was released without bail.

Buddy Valastro -- the star of "Cake Boss" -- was arrested early Thursday AM for driving while intoxicated ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement tells TMZ ... cops noticed the TLC star's 2014 yellow Corvette weaving on 10th Ave in Manhattan. They cops lit 'em up, pulled Buddy over and smelled a strong odor of alcohol.
We're told Buddy flunked multiple field sobriety tests. He was cuffed, taken to the cop shop and booked.
A law enforcement source tells us Buddy "blew well above the legal limit."
Buddy will go before a judge who will set bail -- probably this morning.

Faye Grant appeared in court Wednesday AM for the first day of their divorce trial. Stephen was a no show, but we obtained docs which outline his new demand. He claims Faye should pay because he can't get work as a result of TMZ posting the audio.
Stephen says Faye had no right to secretly record him in his therapist's office -- that she had a legal duty to protect his privacy. And he claims she's responsible for leaking the recording to TMZ.
Stephen wants a million bucks ... presumably deducted from her share of the community property, which we're told is valued at around $14 million.
The trial was delayed because Faye's lawyer told the judge he didn't want to rep her anymore because of a fee dispute ... so she needs a new lawyer.

David Ruffin Jr. was busted by LAPD shortly after midnight. Law enforcement sources tell us officers responded to a home in the San Fernando Valley ... and found a woman with visible injuries, and Ruffin Jr. was taken into custody.
It's unclear what kind of injuries the woman allegedly suffered. Ruffin Jr. is being held on $50,000 bail.
The 48-year-old is a singer and stage actor in Los Angeles. Of course, his father was the Temptations' lead singer from 1964 to 1968.

Amanda does NOT want to stay in Glendale, but her parents were firm ... they will not get her a place anywhere near Hollywood or West Hollywood, because they think it spells nothing but trouble and where leeches glom onto her.

Stephen Collins was fired from a major movie 2 hours after TMZ posted audio of him confessing to child molestation.
Collins filed legal docs for his upcoming divorce trial this month, in which he is asking the judge to slash Faye Grant's $13,000 monthly spousal support to ZERO, claiming he can't get work now.
Collins says in the legal docs he was canned from "Ted 2" after our story posted October 7th. He says he lost $75K that he would have made for the project, and that doesn't count residuals.
Collins says the judge should penalize Grant for what he says was an unlawful recording in his therapist's office that she secretly made.
He also says he does not expect to get any acting offers for the rest of the year.
