James Foley -- British Rapper Suspected In Journalist Beheading

One of the men suspected of beheading American journalist James Foley was once an aspiring rapper.

Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary -- a 24-year old who reportedly left home last year to fight in Syria's civil war -- used to go by the name L. Jinny ... and even had some of his music played on BBC Radio.

Bary tweeted a picture of himself holding a severed head earlier this month ... and the Telegraph says he's a suspect in Foley's execution.

According to reports ... former ISIS hostages have given him the nickname "John the Beatle" -- because of his British accent.

Nicki Minaj -- Snake Bites Dancer During VMA Rehearsal

A 6-foot long snake -- believed to be an anaconda -- just bit a dancer during a VMA run-through for Sunday's show ... TMZ has learned.

Nicki Minaj was on stage performing her hit, "Anaconda" when a female dancer was bit by the reptile in front of everyone.

We're told the dancer has just been taken to the hospital where she's being treated.

Anacondas are non-venomous snakes but often transmit bacteria that can lead to serious infections.

The snake was removed from the stage in a container.

It's unclear if the show will 86 the snake for the live telecast.

Steve-O -- Cops Investigating SeaWorld Stunt -- Prosecution Likely

The California Highway Patrol is investigating Steve-O for breaking the law during his SeaWorld protest.

Steve-O essentially made a video confession ... giving a blow-by-blow of how he defaced a public sign on the 5 Freeway which leads to the theme park.

Caltrans was pissed ... got the CHP involved and now Steve-O could face criminal charges -- defacing public property.

Our sources say ... it's likely the case will be referred to prosecutors and Steve-O will be charged.

Justin Bieber -- Illegally Drives Can Am On Sidewalk ... Almost Hits Disabled Woman

Justin Bieber took his Can-Am Spyder into Bev Hills Thursday ... and when traffic got too congested for his taste, he maneuvered it onto the sidewalk where he rode illegally ... almost hitting someone.

Columbus Short ARRESTED

Columbus Short just got a new set of cuffs .... he was arrested and taken into custody in a Van Nuys courtroom.

Short has been a wanted man since last month when he failed to appear in his criminal domestic violence case. Short chose to go to Barbados instead. The judge issued an arrest warrant and set bail at $40K.

That same judge became enraged earlier this week when Short skipped another hearing ... he was still vacationing in Barbados. The judge upped the bail to $500K.

The former "Scandal" star showed up this AM to face the music and was immediately arrested.

Now get this ... Short had another hearing today in a criminal case involving a bar fight, but he didn't show because he was in custody. So the judge in the bar fight case issued a SECOND arrest warrant and set bail at $250K.

He makes bad decisions.

Kevin Sorbo -- Calls Ferguson Protesters 'Animals' and 'Losers'

Kevin Sorbo unleashed a crazy rant on Facebook about the unrest in Ferguson ... accusing protesters of using the shooting of Michael Brown as "an excuse to be the losers these animals truly are."

The former "Hercules" star, who's a die-hard conservative, said on Facebook, "Ferguson riots have very little to do with the shooting of the young man."

He thinks the rioters are people who failed in life and need to cast blame for their shortcomings.

He wrote, "Hopefully this is a reminder to the African Americans ( I always thought we just Americans. Oh, well.) that their President the [sic] voted in has only made things worse for them, not better."

Sorbo then proceeded to paste the contents of a recent article from the Jewish World Review entitled, "Media Clueless About the Inner City."

We reached out to Sorbo's rep. So far, no comment.

Don Pardo Dead -- Legendary 'SNL' Announcer Dies at 96

Don Pardo -- the man who famously announced "It's Saturday Night Live!" from the very first episode of "SNL" -- passed away Monday night at the age of 96 at his home in Tucson, AZ ... NBC officials confirm.

Details surrounding Pardo's death are unclear.

Pardo was hand-picked for the "SNL" job by the show's creator Lorne Michaels -- and was featured on every single episode from 1975 until March 2013 ... when he missed 2 shows after suffering a broken hip.

But like the champ he was ... Pardo got back to work after he healed up and continued to serve as "SNL" announcer when the show resumed in September.

Former "SNL" writer John Mulaney tweeted moments ago ... saying, "Goodbye Don Pardo. You worked from World War II until this May. You were cool as hell. I'm very lucky I got to talk to you those few times."

Dane Cook also posted a message about Pardo -- saying, "I always wanted to host SNL and it was a lifelong mission. When I got it and got to NYC I had 1 must. Get a photo with the great Don Pardo. His voice set the tone of the show and hearing him usher in each host with his booming hijinx-y role call was in my dreams but saying my name finally. My dream came true. Thank you sir for spending time chatting and introducing me to America on that special Saturday night."

'Big Brother' Voting -- One Thing CBS Didn't Count On -- A Lawsuit

The biggest backstabbing villain at "Big Brother" isn't Ariana Grande's brother, Frankie -- or any of the other contestants -- it's the CBS honchos who run the voting ... according to a new lawsuit.

A guy named Edwin Lyda claims he invented the system for text message voting and says he holds the patents to that system. He claims CBS jacked his invention and uses it each week on BB.

On the show, viewers vote in various ways -- by telephone, online, with a phone app or text messaging. The votes don't determine who stays or goes ... it's for things like who should win bonus prizes or who should get special perks in the house.

Lyda says his system for text voting is a big part of the show ... he wants a court to decide how much of BB's millions he's entitled to get ... then again, he could get nothing.

We called CBS for comment ... so far no word back.
